REFLECTION

With this plan I tried to carry out a Physical Education that contributes to the integral development of the students.

A proposal for a shared assessment has been made since it includes not only the teacher´s assessment of the students, but also self assessment and peer-assessment procedures in which the students take an active and leading role.

From my experience students really like this kind of assessment becouse they feel important and they know better in wich manner they can improve. At first it could be difficult to them to reflect about themselves and be honest, but with practice it will be a useful tool.

A way in wich I can improve shared assessment, is talking individually with them and dialoguing about their self-assessment (showing them when there is a big difference between their self-assessment and the assessment made by the teacher related with the same item). This could help students to reflect deeper about their learning proccess and be more honest, but on the other hand it requires more time.

Related with peer-assessment I have observed that some students aren´t honest and responsables with their role and try to cheat when assessing their classmates. It is necessary that the teacher supervise peer-assessment and also, it could be a solution to make groups of three in wich two students assess the other one so it´s more difficult for them to cheat.

Physical Education is a subject where the most important aspect is the practice itself and the effort of the students to enhance their motor skills. Taking it into account and from my point of fiew, sometimes the fact of doing written exams is a disadvantage because we reduce the time they have to practie exercise (that it is only one hour and a half per week). One posible solution is to use an application like Plickers, where I can show students the different questions and answers, and they don´t have to write so they can do it faster.

Another way to involve their motor skills while assessing their knowledge could be using the food pyramid in a gymkhana. They can work in groups, and each time they achieve the aim of a game or exercise, the teacher gives them one picture that they should stick on the food pyramid. In this case they also use english to talk with their mates trying to find the richt place to stick the picture.

To conclude, the plan is viable and is based on the process, taking into account the knowledge that students are acquiring, the improvement, the attitudes throughout the different sessions... based on meaningful learning and the observation of real situations of practice. However, it can be improved taking into account the above suggestions and being evaluated by other teachers that may show a different point of view and can suggest new ideas to improve it.
